Silwervis Chenin Blanc 2017

“The Silwervis Chenin Blanc 2017 has a bright, straw-yellow color and aromas of green apple, pear, and honeycomb. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and crisp, with flavors of lemon zest, white peach, and a hint of minerality. The acidity is refreshing and balanced, leading to a clean and satisfying finish.

The Silwervis Chenin Blanc 2017 is made from grapes grown on dry-farmed, old-vine Chenin Blanc vineyards in the Swartland region. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts, using a combination of whole-cluster and de-stemmed grapes. The wine is aged in old oak barrels for 10 months before being bottled without fining or filtration.

Like all of Silwervis’ wines, the Chenin Blanc 2017 is made with minimal intervention and a deep respect for the terroir. The winemakers believe in allowing the grapes and the soil to express themselves fully, resulting in wines that are unique, complex, and reflective of their place of origin. The wine has gained critical acclaim both in South Africa and internationally, and it is considered to be one of the finest examples of Chenin Blanc coming out of the Swartland region.”
